sort of stealing from the other thread about career direction. What is the best job you ever had?

Worked at HB Culpeppers (bar and restuarant) for 3 years in college (IUP ftw)... no managers after 2:00pm. I worked 5:00pm-1:00am 3-4 days a week...... Free food & beer from the coolers and lots of sexual harrassment (this was pre Anita Hill when sexual harassment was appreciated. ). we would get bombed while working.....I cooked a few times and didn't remember working...the next day was always funny when the Chili we made had fist sized clumps of meat in it. we dropped all kinds of shit...10 second rule...

we would purposely unplug the toaster and set it on DARK to mess with the day people... so it wouldn't toast at first, then it would burn the toast after that...

we used to throw a huge empty pickle container down the stairs and pretend like we fell yelling each time the container hit a stair....... customers would come flying into the kitchen like idiots...

I miss those days.... i made $3.35 per hour and smelled like grease but had a great time.

 

I got paid to play video games for a few years. Someone has to decide what will sell and I had the job. It was also my job to come up with ideas for new games and ideas on how to improve games before they were released.

 

Working at a golf course when I was a kid, it was all fun and games, and when I was done, I'd go out and play 36 holes for free.

and I made HUGE money for some reason.

 

My current job. I get paid to pass gas all day.

 

When in H.S. was a pool grill guy at a Health club which had great views, no supervision, cash till with no $$$ being tracked what so ever, and BEER... Wow to be 16-17 again.

wow... i never realized bartenders could make that much $ even in NYC...

In College the bartenders were making $100 a night or so while i was too busy getting drunk and dropping food.....

Gotta love jobs where you can steal $ easily too..... I worked at a motel in OC, MD for a summer. Me and 1 other guy probably took $5k from that guy from bike rentals and soda $. $5k to poor college kids in 1991 was HUGE $....
