Best Man's Speech - NEED HELP!
I'm in a serious rut here guys.. I'm the best man at my friends wedding tomorrow and I've totally procrastinated with the speech. In fact, the damn wedding is in less than 24 hours!! I thought it'd be easy to talk about my friend, but once I strip out the innappropriate content, and stuff that the rest of the audience would have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm left with, "Thank you for coming, cheers".
Really need helps with ideas, tips, the best speech you've heard, or if you have a speech you've written, please share!!
Looking for something with guest participation if possible! I'm sure quite a bunch of you have had the honor of being someone's best man, so please.. HELP!!

haha i was the best man at my brothers speech when i was 20...i feel your pain...the wedding was right after finals and of course i didnt even think about it until the day before...definitely not an easy thing...
Some ideas:
Recognize the day as a celebration for them, and for everybody there.
Compliment the bride (and her mom) tastefully, but thoroughly.
Tell the groom how he's done well in picking a good bride (this is really more complimenting of the bride. . . be tasteful of course).
Tell the couple how they've already enriched your life, and their friends.
Wish them attributes; not things (no-brainer here)
Invite the guests into seeing the good things you see in the couple.
Toast to a few more attributes. . .

Don't fret to much over it. The best speeches are always those that tell a quick story. Approach it the same way you would if you were telling a friend about this couple.
Don't approach on the grand scale. Keep it personal. The obligatory "when are they going to have kids" joke always works.

Thanks guys, all went well.. used some of 8D's advice and also threw in a few jokes and had the crowd rolling.
I have another one in April.. hopefully this time I wont procrastinate as badly!
