Default Best online mortgage providers?

Does anybody have a good recommendation for an on-line mortgage broker? A ton of web sites out there, most are complete crap...

I vigorously pursued numerous big name online mortgage brokers, and it seemed like things were going so smoothly and I was getting great rates - the Good Faith Estimates came in looking good. Then, I get a message from one saying, "Mark, I made a mistake and am not going to be able to offer that rate afterall. I'll call you at your home number". Never heard from him again. This was www.mortgageselect.com

Then, things were going so smoothly with www.esourcemortgage.com. I worked with a guy named , Greg and he seemed to be totally fantastic. Returned my calls quickly, really worked well. When I made initial contact with him, I told him exactly what I wanted, and he sent me GFE's telling me it could be done. 2 weeks from closing he calls and tells me he made a mistake and same story as above. Now he was gonna have to offer me a different rate with different terms.

While I was house shopping my realtor seemed concerned about my pre-approval with .com mortgage companies, and I assured her it would be OK - I was dead wrong. I decided to go with an established brick and mortar company - Wells Fargo, and couldn't be happier...other than the 15 (slight exaggeration) mailings I get a month about mortgage insurance...sheesh..that's why I have multiple life insurance policies, short and long term disability.

On the flip side of things, I am a 100% satisfied customer of www.peoplefirst.com for my autoloan.

I'm currently looking for a home equity loan, and it is easy to go to www.bankrate.com and find tons of online companies, I am very weary of them, and will most likely find another brick and mortar company.

Good luck!

Wow. Getting dumped by the broker 2 weeks before closing! Maybe I should stick with the local guys for 1/4% to 1/2% higher interest...

I appreciate your feedback.

ditech.com worked well for me when i needed a second. they came through and funded in 5 days! I heard that a first (refi) can fund almost as quickly.

A friend used "eloan.com" and got a competitive rate AND it went smoothly.

Hope this helps!

Have had good experience with E-loan...the rate lock doesn't offer a float down, but an altogether easy enough experience. Also got great rate for the S2k through them.

I'm totally disgusted with all the online brokers. We tried to refinance through 4 or 5 of them when rates dropped down to 6 1/4 for 30 years. Out af all my inquiries, we got one phone call, and his quote was a full 1 percent higher than the online quote!

We also tried two "brick and mortar" companies locally. Neither got back to us. So, I'm disgusted with all of them!

RRRRRrrrr!

Shouldn't complain, we got a great loan rate, but refinancing would have saved us $100 per month AND let me finish the basement.
