I navigated a few times many years ago on forest events, not with anybody as fast as Ari though.
Drivers and co pilots have an agreed code for corners according to the severity of the bend and can call the bend in speed, or a numerical value and of course direction, the maybe is because the driver could not decide quite how "fast" the bend is and will make a decision possibly dependent on road conditions.
Saw Ari recently at the McRae stages in Scotland, he looked as fast as ever.

Generally, the navigator will give information in a 3 line code. 2 numbers, and a direction (left or right).

Say the navigator says "50, right, 4."

50 yards, right hand turn, and a turn with a sharpness 4, from a range of 1-10, 1 being a sweeper, 10 being a hairpin.

That's the basics I learned from watching some events and it is the most basic that anyone can understand. Of course, drives and navigators modify to fit their needs but generally it's something similar to that.
