Which is better for the environment?
Been meaning to ask this for a long time: what's better (or should I say "less damaging to"?) for the environment--throwing toilet paper into the trash or flushing it down the toilet? Thnx!

bestest thread everrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!! how does that saying go? "if it's brown, flush it down. if it's yellow.... " i forgot the second part.
And who in their right mind puts used asswipe in the trash can? That makes about as much sense to me as putting your loads in a jar on the sink after you rub one out in order to avoid clogging the shower.

My (former) rommates used to leave paper-wrapped Hershy treats for me in the garbage can. Apparently, in their country (Kazakh. . . err, Spain), they'd have septic/sewage issues all the time, and this was the solution.
So, after yours truly would occaisionally blast King Grogan down the Sluceway of Doom, the toilet would flush slow for half a day, and Borat would start leaving me "treats" in the garbage can.
It drove me nuts. "FFS Alberto, just grab the plunger!!"

Never use your toilet as a trash basket. Domestic solid waste should be picked up by a municipal or private trash service where it will be legally deposited into a sanitary landfill designed to accept solid waste. Toilet-generated effluent is collected by a sewer system and deposited into a wastewater treatment system, which wasn't designed to process solid waste. Treated water is then discharged into the ocean or a river or lake. If you don't believe me, ask your local municipal officials.
