Biggest news of 2003/2004! (Well, for me, that is)
YAY!!!! OMG how exciting. What an awesome Christmas present! Kids are so kewl! My little guy is now 9 weeks old and I am lovin it. He is just the coolest little man. Well catch up on your sleep for the next nine months because you sure as heck will have to get used to about three or four hours of sleep when the little one arrives ;-)
I've got a great piece of advice: STOCK UP ON SLEEP! Man, I rarely get a night without being woken up one way or another.
Also, get some clothes you don't mind getting puke or crap on (including a jacket). You'll be glad for it later.
Aside from that, prepare for an amazing time. I wouldn't give my little girl up for anything - she's an angel (and she lights up every time she sees me). If this is your first kid (it would seem that it is), it'll be one of the most fascinating times of your life.
Congratulations!

Congratulations, Mingster! Please give your wife our best.
Maybe we can see you between Christmas and New Years.
Our eldest was born in August, too, so we know exactly how your wife will be feeling. Shame on you.

Make sure she eat's good healthy food. In fact make sure she eat's the healthiest that she has ever. No caffefine, no booze . Exercise with her, this is not a excuse to get lazy and fat. My wife hired a nutritionist and only gained three pounds after giving birth to both my sons 5 & 2. Her friends who had kids at the same time pigged out are still way fat and had longer labors like 10-15 hours worth. Mine start to finish had my sons in less than 5 hours. With our first one she had contractions at 9:00 pm and I was home and in bed by 1:30am. Second was pretty much the same, low effort at least for me.

Congratulations, Rich, and to your spouse as well.
Did you make a deposit on that 800 sq. ft. condo yet? think it will be small for 3 of you?
I waited for comments from you on that thread and you had no followup to all the advice.
