He couldn't see why no one liked him. Maybe he was nice looking there were no pics. Maybe he did have good manners. Maybe a lot of things, but his blog says he was typical and his self absorption would have tended to make his conversation stilted & one sided with topics very limited in scope. Interesting talk to him would center upon his needs and fears and therefore be of little interest to others with a life. He would think he was charming and that he was talking about things that MUST interest others and in fact he would have been boring with his conversationalists looking for any excuse to leave. Which would/did reinforce his image that the rest of the world was crazy.
