question question..Does work out actually make you become shorter because I've seen most builder builders are so short in height. Just wondering.

Short? You mean vertically challenged don't you? I resemble that remark. I think you should watch a bodybuilding championship. They come in all heights. The heavy weights are really impressive. Better yet go see one in person. The female bodybuilders look incredible when they aren't pumped up. 6' tall blondes, Yee Haw!
Personally I was a 98lb weakling in high school and wanted desperately to be bigger. I do fit that description though.I'm 5'6" 200 lbs. Some of it is fat. I'm working on it.
But to answer the question. No. Your height isn't going to change. Your weight will though.

I don't know about that, but I do know that working out to much when your still growing can really stunt your growth. I grew up with Brad May, of the NHL slashing fame, and he was always working out. He got so out of proportion because his body wasn't maturing right. He sure was funny to look at. Nowadays he's not small, but isn't anywhere near what he would have looked like if he was a regular joe.

Some kids growing up try to not workout their legs, b/c of fear of a stunt in growth. I still remember an incidence where this highschool football freshman (a while back) used to show off his muscles. I was like so how much do you squat? He told me he didn't want to workout his legs alot until he was older, b/c it might stunt his growth.

I have passed my growth spurt so I have been hitting the gym pretty hard.

I think a lot of the pro body builders are short because it is easier for a smaller guy to look yoked. Same muscles compacted onto a 5'6" frame look more massive and solid than when spread over a 6' frame.

very true. That's why Arnold was so amazing. He was tall and big. Also, Lou Ferrigno was huge too. I think he is like 6'4".

I was surprise to find out that Ronnie Coleman is only 5'10". He look bigger on TV. Well, I mean, except for the time I saw him at my gym...

it is true though that a majority of bodybuilders are short.. even in the heavyweights most of them are around 5"10.. i stopped working out in 6th grade.. and didn't start again till i was 16.. i'm not sure if it stunted my growth or not but i'm moderatly happy at 5"10.5 short for a texan though.

I feel u. U might have been short or something, but im 18, 5'11, and about 130 lbs. im not saying im hella tall or anything, its just that i am lanky... most of the people my age are around the 150-160 lb range... is there a chart that shows the average weight of a person of my age and height?... I have a Weider weight machine that i use to try and bulk up a little... it makes a little difference, but i just cant seem to put on any weight...
