Yeah .. very real...
I've seen the discovery channel show on these things twice. They are friggin huge.. I forget what they are called. Japanese death wasps or something. They will attack a honey bee hive and only lose like 2 guys, while killing all 10 thousand of the other poor suckers. I also saw another piece where one colony figured out how to kill those big mothers. It seems that the maximum body temp of a honey bee can go up to 120 degrees, where the massive wasp can only live till 115. May not have been those exact numbers, but very close. So when a scout wasp goes into the hive to check things out.. they all swarm him and vibrate on him to create enough heat to eventually kill him. Very very weird to watch.

p.s. I do not watch too much tv at 4am
