I think it has to do with pushing the cartilage from your nose into your brain to kill you. Most people get their nose whacked sideways and broken, not shoved up into their heads.

My Corrado is a different story, it's modded to the hilt. And it has 292,000 miles on it so far.

Supercharger: Original G60 supercharger replaced at 194,519 miles with 2RS charger (twin belt, ported air inlet, reshaped airways, balanced displacer & eccentric shaft, upgraded bearings & seals, ceramic heat coated internals, tribological friction coating, ported exhaust, ported + matched + sealed air silencer box)
2RS charger repaired/revised by BahnBrenner Motorsports, upgraded with 3rd generation displacer & twin 11mm belts (improved over 9mm belts). Air silencer box replaced with BahnBrenner aluminum RSR outlet; 61mm custom pulley (21 psi boost) for race, 68mm pulley for street (17.4psi boost). Upgraded to RSR porting specs in 2001.
Head: Eurospec ported & polished w/ 42mm intake valves, AST HD valvesprings, AST titanium valve retainers, BahnBrenner 268/260 supercharger cam; AST metal headgasket, Audi 80 RS2 exhaust manifold gaskets
Intake: portmatched & polished intake manifold; bored/honed throttlebody;
