Yeah, I don't leave the sink area because I'd make a mess. Must be a guy thing.

the foam is caused by toothpaste mixing with water, aided by the scrubbing motion. if you have the habbit of wetting your toothbrush before applying the toothpaste, rinse your mouth with water before brushing, or you salivate excessively when you brush, you will produce more foam. if you don't believe me, try applying toothpaste on a dry toothbrush and start brushing and continue to brush for a couple of minutes. now rinse your mouth clean, wash off your toothbrush, keep the toothbrush wet, apply the toothpaste, and then start brushing and continue to brush for a couple of minutes. you should be producing excessive foam the second time, but not the first time. i personally hate brushing with a dry toothbrush. i feel the foam helps by getting into the crevices to clean spots that the toothbrush brissles can't reach.

to further demonstrate the point. apply some toothpaste to a dry part of the sink and apply some toothpaste to a wet part of the sink. using 2 seperate dry toothbrushes, starting brushing the toothpaste around the 2 respective areas. on the dry part of the sink, the toothpaste would merely smear but will not foam. on the wet part of the sink, the toothpaste should dissolve into the water and foam.

I too have thought about this many times... My gf can wander all over the place, as well as those toothpaste commercials they never spill a drop.

I on the otherhand pretty much need a troff underneath me to catch the overflow.

I've tried to keep it all in, but it just doesn't work.

Don't be ashamed my man..
Beard works to keep it from falling all over the place. Using my Sonicare with a microbe of toothpaste helps too.

That made me choke <laughing>. I don't think anyone else got it, though.

damn, I always think about this. I've seen people in reals and on Tv brushing without any foam. I too am like a latte. perhaps, it has to do with the size and shape of your teeth, and how much saliva you produce. I don't drull, so it must be the small mouth.

I don't foam out the mouth and I'm a guy.

I always wet my toothbrush.
