Here's the best foreclosure deal I've seen. I met this guy last year, and he was telling me how he bought this place for $7,000,000. Apparently it cost about $25,000,000 to build, and the owner (a lawyer) ran into some financial difficulties and lost the house. The bank put it up for auction, accepting sealed bids. On the day of the sale, he and the bank were the only two bidders, and he got it right there on the courthouse steps.
