Buying indian owned house
I am looking into buying a house where an Indian family has been living there for the past 10 years. When I visit the house there is a strong curry/Indian food smell all over the house. It's not meal time and the owner has not been cooking all day but the smell is still very strong. When I come out of the house the food smell even stay on my clothe. My concern is if I buy this house will the Indian food smell be hard to get rid of? Will the Indian food smell go away after the family move out? This house is in a good location with lots of upgrdes at a fair price. My wife likes the house a lot and I eat Indian food once in a while but I don't want to smell it 24/7 if I move into this new house. Does anyone has experience in buying a house which the previous owner is Indian family? Do you still smell the Indian food months after you move in? Any comment will be appreciated.
DO NOT BUY THIS HOUSE. I was discussing this with a few knowledgeable realtors and an area we were looking at in Dallas has a very strong Indian contigent.
You will NEVER get the smell out of the house completely. It has to be one of the strongest food odors in the world. Before we moved into our current house, some Indians moved in next to us at our previous apartment complex. When they would cook curry, it would come through the walls. Sound wouldn't even come through the walls. It was a nice complex with solid walls. The smell STILL came through.
Buyer beware.
