Thanks to all! Quite friendly.

I wouldnt say the C5 is 'faster' per say... just ask autoxEX... we have this rivalry thing going at the autocross. We always come within tenths of each other... QUITE competitive...

Glad to be here! Happy posting!

Eric

I got a chance to take a ride a long in magnetic's C5 at yesterday's autocross. Honestly I think it still needs more horsepower, my helmet banging against the headrest on the launch wasn't enough, I still managed to remain conscious. When are we supercharging it Eric? Shame that your sister drives it better then you do!!!!!!

eh hem.

Well.. I taught her everythign she knows... but she has a few more seconds to catch but YOU on the other hand.....

Im not going to do forced induction. Costs way too much $ and right now I have enough trouble launching .. to add like another 150HP .. man... talk about buying new tires all the time....

What I really want to do is get some more suspension mods.. Im slowly turning my car into a ZO6... I just gotta get the 2002 ZO6 rear leaf spring and fromt sway with aluminum endlinks... I gotta catch that damn 'RedZO6' guy...

hmm wouldnt it have been cheaper to just BUY a zo6 then? i raced on of those in my s2k, BIG mistake, those things are soo sweet, but the differences between a z06 and c5 are subtle, i have come to see the major difference is the wheels, the antricite colored ones. z06 along with ZR-1 are among my favorite vetts, along with several older ones.

I've always loved Vettes (owned 2), still do. I just can't deal with them on a day-to-day basis. If the Vette guys I ran into were as friendly as you, I may have had a better all 'round ownership experience. Later.

most of the Vette guys Ive met are cool and down to earth.. I have met a couple who were complete A-holes though.. the kind that just ignore you... then there was this one time.. not a Corvette guy.. but a RX7 guy who slammed his hood shut when we were checking out his engine.. we werent even leaning over his car or anything.. he was seriously PISSED. I dont get those people.. its like.. were complementing his car and he gets all pissy.

Anyhow.. why no ZO6? caus i had to be able to go topless

Mike,

It has a transverse leaf spring. It goes from one side of the car to the other. Eliminates standard spring setup and makes suspension fully adjustable. (lower/raise car with a turn of a bolt)
