Cali high flow cats?
I just saw this on Berk Techs website:
"As of January 1st, 2009, performance high flow cats are intended for off-road use only in the state of California."
How is this possible?
I thought the purpose of a cat was to reduce the toxicity of emissions from an internal combustion engine. What does it matter what kind of flow the cat has, it should still pass emissions and be legal! Is this just another way to try and keep enthusiasts at bay?
Your opinions please.

A high flow cat won't reduce emissions like a oem cat will. I don't know much about high flow cats but I'm guessing they aren't a three way cat like oem thus not reducing NOx emissions. But just a guess.
