My buddy finished 5 in about 5 minutes
He is pretty sure he can't do 6 though, I guess it is a visual basic app

 

6 wants a server and port as well as login and pw

 

he just wrote this...."host is try2hack.nl port is 84 i think"
He is impressing the hell out of me, I figured he would be able to do some but he is figuring them out really quick.

 

Alright, I learned how to do 3, he sent me wget so that i could pull the file.
Level 4 is where I stop for now (even though i know the answer). He didn't really explain how he did 4 without one, but I know that I can't go any farther without a decompiler. I pulled the files, but the one java file is worthless in my eyes without the decompiler.
He is pretty much stuck on the rest of 6. he said he doesn't know jack about vb.
Oh well........very cool learning experience, thanks for pointing out the site.

level 5 is a b*tch. i don't have the right tools. anyone have a good hex reader? or vb3 decompiler?

hmm... i'm using PHRED, but i think a vb3 decompiler would be more useful at this point.
