I think the new SS, but don't quote me on that. (Of course it all depends on driver)

I could be wrong, but I thought the SS had different final gearing that the TA, therefore, was slightly quicker.

Funny guys... Me and my best bud just spent the x-mas holiday dragging these cars (on the streets of course .

Both cars had a CAI and SS loudmouth exhaust... Tons of torque on those things... I had never driven a car that would spin the wheels from a 2K clutch drop...

Anyways, to answer your question... they are almost identical. Some times I would pull about 1/2 car... sometime he would pull half a car to 108 MPH. Neither of us missed a shift, but getting the car off the line can be a challenge with that much torque..

On our first launch we both spun the tires for ~30 seconds before I decided to let up on the gas...

BTW, I was driving the SS... (my buds cars) the WS6 was his dads !

Same car. Generally the Pontiacs are a few pounds heavier due to the "doodad factor".

Eric don't tell me you are considering getting one of these. If you think the S2000 has bad winter traction wait till you get behind the wheel in one of those. Believe me I had a LT1 Z28 and that was no fun I can't imagine what the extra hp and torque will be with a SS or WS6

I wanted an SS before I decided on the S2K...

But the T/A is heavier but has a better Ram Air set up, while the SS is a little lighter it has a less effective "Ram Air" set up.
