This was taken by a KTBS helicopter flying over Cross Lake! (For those of you who are not local, Cross Lake is in Shreveport, La.) That has to be a HUGE gator to have a whole deer in its mouth! Are you ready to go skiing on Cross Lake?! If you ski at the west end of the lake -- try not to fall.

Yes deer can swim, even without a gators help. Chances are that I would also ski in that lake.

Several years ago I was pulling a barefoot skier at about 42 mph and hit a big gator in a turn. The impact was hard enough to split the inner hull of the boat down the center, rip the seats out of the floor and injure 3 of the 4 girls that were in the boat. As luck would have it the guy I was pulling was also hurt in the fall the crash caused. The whole deal was a pretty nasty experience, the inside of the boat looked like we had been catching bloody fish.

I don't know if the gator lived but I highly doubt it. I didn't see him after the impact. With an injured skier in the water I was sure looking for him.

 

I just ran over my toe with one of the wheels on my computer chair.

It always grosses me out whenever the swimmers stretch before the swim and spin their arms like windmills... GROSS!!!
