Hi guys, i'm in the market for a lap top right now and there are just too many brands and options. CAn you guys offer any advice and where I should buy??
I basically need it for school and business. They key is something fast!!!!! Oh and if it isn't heavy and bulky that would be great too.
From what I've read the rankings are as follows???
1. Dell/Toshiba/Sony
2. Everything else.
Also, should i get the pentium or celeron processor??
thanks

depends on what you want man.
i mean, you can go for battery life and small size, or go for a desktop replacement with a good video card but heavy weight.
i would always go with Pentium or Pentium M.

They are pricy, but I love my Sony Vio.... Couldn't be more happier with it.
Only thing if warranty is a priority for you, buy it from COMP USA or some place like that and pay the extra 200-300 dollars for the 3 year warranty, cause Sony's is not the best. It was definately worth it, cause my brothers girlfriend ruined my screen when she spilled wine all over it. Comp USA replaced it no problem. If I hadnt bought the warranty, it would have cost me a lot more than 300$.

1. Apple
2. Dell/Lenovo
3. Everything else.
Depending on what you want to spend, Apple is the best, but laptops are just under a grand.
I've heard WalMart is going to have a HUGE sale on computers post Thanksgiving, somehing like $400 for HPs, but these are bare bones PCs.

If you really want to score and are adventuresome (sp) wait until black friday. I did it last year as I do every year just because my twisted mind things it fun to get up at 3 or 4 am and stand in line for 2-3 hours to get one of the deep discount items. That being said last year I got 2 laptops one for 500 and one for 700. I sold the 500 one for 700 on ebay and so in essence got the 700 dollar machine which on a non blackfriday would be 1100 for 500!

BLack friday is the friday after thanksgiving that signals off the christmas shopping season. On that day most major retailers open extra early with doorbuster savings to get people in the shop. Usually the really good deals are limited to 10-20 items so being one of the first few people in the door is a must and hence getting there very early.
