Can Someone Explain To Me Where The Term 'Owned' Came From???
I noticed from a few forums people relating to other people's mishaps as 'Owned'? What exactly does that mean and where did it come from

Anyway, "owned" means something along the lines of "to be dominated or controlled by". Not sure where it came from - probably from the same place "kewl" and "1337" came from, wherever that is.

The owner of something--whether a car, a pet, a slave--decides its fate; the item owned has no control over its destiny.
When one is the victim of circumstances or is outperformed, one has no control over one's destiny. In that sense it is identical to being owned in the literal sense.
This comes not from any specific research on the origin of the use of the term, but by reasoning from first principles. I should have thought you could have done that yourself.
I solved your problem. I own you.
