At the Barret-Jackson auction held last month in Phoenix, a new (2000) BMW Z8 sold for $178,000. The auctioneer explained to prospective bidders that new Z8s were selling for $75K over MSRP in California; what a deal! Being curious, I checked the title info on this car through carfax.com and was informed that the title was unavailable and still in transit. By the way, a '99 Ferrari Modena sold for $151K.
