International Business degree is something else to look into. I have been working on completing mine. You would need at least a Masters to land a career with a good company and you have to speak another language fluently.

what kind of degree would help for product planning positions, and/or new product development? not actual design, i mean concepts for new segments of cars or of a car to fill a segment not currently in the manufacturer's lineup? Would Mechanical engineering with some business and/or sociology be the best here? right now I'm MAE (Mechanical and Aerospace engineering) at UCSD's Jacob's school (frosh, so i've got time).

Thanks

If you like working on your own car at times, don't become an auto tech. It's a great job, but no one in the field is an enthusiast. I love working on cars, but when I come home, I don't wanna touch mine.
