Unfortnately it's this lack of understanding that prevents people from seeking help. People make all kinds of judgements when they have absolutely NO idea what it's like to experience something like depression. It's discouraging that you think other people's suffering is funny.

I only think it's funny if it's a clown who's suffering. . . preferably from diarrhea.

Depressed before?

No money for you now!

Seems like a winning proposition.

you don't think everyone gets depressed? cmon now really? i dont find humor in others suffering. i just find it funny how people think they DESERVE EXTRA MONEY to make themselves happier. if that were the case, then sign my ass up for it then. why not just pay for their therapy? i still think that's a waste of money but atleast its something more constructive than just throwing money at the solution and hoping it will go away

Same here. I have many friends that have lost jobs, girlfriends, boyfriends, and legal battles because of something they posted on facebook or myspace.

Of course everyone feels sad as a normal reaction to things that happen in life. But no, everyone does not meet the criteria for clinical depression. There's a significant difference between being sad and being depressed.
