Default CD skipping over bumps.

My CD skips whenever I go over harsh bumps. In my other car this is not a problem. Does anyone experience this problem

cd never skipped in my stock S2000 headunit but it does now with my alpine. don't have the same problem with the same cd in my other car either. i guess it's the stiffer ride in the S.

Radio??? You mean this car has a radio???

J/K. I rarely listen to anything other than the car when driving but have not experienced the CD skip you mention.

I'd guess that the stiff suspsension coupled with relatively short wheelbase would make the S a very difficult car to install a CD player in and not have it skip.

Neither my stock CD player nor my Sony CD changer in the trunk has ever skipped even on rough roads. There's a suspension system on all CD changers and there should be sufficient "memory" for getting past those occasional bumps. Perhaps one of these mechanisms is not set up properly.

We have the same problem. We took ours into the dealer who replaced the radio but the problem persists. I started a thread about this a few months ago under "Electronics" and got a bunch of stupid replies--buy a different brand, avoid the Bots dots; the CD player I already bought (with the car) is supposed to work properly and there are rows of Bots dots across the street I have to take to get home.

If you find a solution, please post it. Thanks!

Mine has starded doing that as well. It didn't use to. My dealer ordered a new head unit which will be installed soon. Tire pressures maybe?
