I notice there have been 31 bids so far, the current bid is nearly $213K, but the reserve has not yet been reached. It certainly does look like the real deal, and he may get his price.

A couple puckish observations:

1. Is that really what the trunk of a Cobra looks like inside? Like a jacuzzi?

2. Calling Rick Hesel! Can you help the poor buyer do something about that ugly carpet on the console?

Looks very similar to the one sold at Barret-Jackson. I saw it come across the block watching on SpeedVision. I believe it went for something like 230K. Maybe it's the same one....Its the same color and all.

Beautiful car either way. Always been a favorite of mine!

I always thought the 427's sat in the $500k range and it was the 289's that dwelled around $250k.

Guess we'll find out.

My bet is $245K is his reserve.

But think about guys, just stop driving your car for the next 35 years and you too can have a car worth $1,000,000 --- but of course by then a cup of coffee will be at least $20.

And --- could you really resist not driving the car? --- I bet every seal in the car is dry as hell! And it leaks like a sieve.

Let's keep in mind this is a street car and not a race car so it has no history at all. So the price is a bit low.

IMHO, the car looks funny without rollhoops, hood scoop and side pipes. Also no Webers under the hood.

I would say that it would go for between $250-$300K.
