There was an article in yesterday's Los Angeles Times Magazine about Caltech's Kip Thorne and other scientists looking for proof of gravity waves. I don't know whether you can find it on-line (try www.latimes.com) but you might find it interesting.

 

Interesting, but nowhere in the multitude of information that I read did they define "wave", which I thought was particularly interesting, you know...from a layman's point of view.
