Cigars
A good cigar is a good cigar and a bad cigar is a bad cigar. This may sound funny, but it is very true. You also get what you pay for most of the time.
Some personal favorite brands:
MonteCristo
Cohiba
Dunhill
Macanudo
Cheaper fare:
H. Upman
Punch
Along with Cigarillos of the above brand (the little cigars and make a great 15 minute smoke vs a 45 minute smoke).
I would stay away from Robustos to start out. They are usually very strong. Find what mild smokes you like and then move to the Robustos.

This is going to be subjective due to everyone's taste being different. I consider myself an afficionado (and yes I do subscribe) but do yourself a favour and go to a tobacconist and spend time talking to them. Not only should they be able to explain the different flavours, but also the diff. sizes, churchills, coronas, figurados, robustos. etc.
I am in Canada so I get to enjoy the pleasure of the finest cuban cigars.. cohiba, montecristos, romeo y julieta, partagas.. the list goes on.. and boy do I enjoy them :-)
However, more recently the Cuban crop over the last year or so has not been up to par, and this has given rise to other nations producing good cigars. Only up until the last few months, have Cuban filler started to get better.. There are very good Dominican and Honduran fillers and good wrapping from Ecuador.
Should you need any further info.. email me..
Take Care
and Happy smoking..

Padrons are one of my favorites. There reasonably priced and has a nice rich flavor to it. If you don't mind spending a little more, you can't go wrong with a Fuente Don Carlos. If you ever get your hands on a Cuban Cohiba Robusto ( not the siglos series) , don't let go of it. It's one of the best cigars out there. But then again, this is just my personal tastes.
I don't smoke them myself; however, I hear Cohibas are good. Here's a cigar site you might find helpful: http://www.cigaraficionado.com/
It is mostly a matter of personal taste. Be careful about buying Cohibas. I read somewhere, that 90% of them are counterfit. I don't think they're that great. Much like Rolex isn't a great Swiss watch. No flames please
Find a cigar that you enjoy by trying different brands and styles. The greatest cigar I ever smoked was a Partagas 150. These were incredible. I think H. Thompson (or one of the catalogs) stilll has them for something rediculous like $300 (per cigar)
I prefer R&J over anything else. But there are some great Dominican, Honduran even Jamaican and Mexican smokes out there. Remember there is still a trade embargo against Cuba and smoking cigars is bad for your health!
Bullshit you can't save it. Get yourself a Cigarsaver. Keeps it moist and the ash stays where it's supposed to. No need for a humidor unless you plan on buying a whole box. Sample a few first. Then take your likes and dislikes back to your tobacconist. They should know some and help guide you.

I stayed in the Marco Polo in Shenzhen (near HK) last week.
In view of the Ferrari dealership on the other side of the road, there was a Pipe / Cigar shop in the lobby. The pipes ranged from 100-1500gbp!!!
Their humidor was an entire room, floor to ceiling cigars. Temp and humidity controlled.
It was a sight to behold.

One of my favorite smokes is the Arturo Fuente Hemingway Classic.
Yummy...!

Yummy...!

Nice cigar when out playing 18. At the 19th hole I prefer Montecristo #2. Either the white or brown label will work just fine. Also agree with the comment on Cubanos. Get some if you can.
