I am not telling you anything. I am commenting on the need of private vs. commercial for top executives of industry.
They might be able to justify an equally capable Learjet for 1/4 the price, but that FX7 is Dassault's top of the line business jet. Shouldn't things like leather seats and state-of-the-art environmental/acoustic control be reserved for people who aren't using taxpayer money to pay their expenses?

It reminds me of a lady I saw at the supermarket who paid for her groceries with foodstamps then drove off in a Rolls Royce.

yeah, I think we saw that in communism, along with every other form of government.
I'm not saying we need to be 100% socialist. Pulling a company out of its own fodder and then demanding that they act responsibly while they are using public funds is not communism. It's the government (lender) holding CitiGroup (borrower) accountable for the money they've borrowed.

maybe all the things we've created with good intentions, which have ultimately backfired on us, are the evils we need to do away with.
When you ditch your S2000 and other modern conveniences, I'll take you a bit more seriously. Until then, your soap box looks like it's about to buckle under the weight of all that bullshit.

however, since the industrial revolution, we've done nothing but rape the enviorment.
This, I'll agree with. But what's done is done. Now instead of wishing you were a living incarnation of Ra's al Ghul, try to support intelligent and innovative ideas to clean up our ENVIRONMENT.

the ability to travel further in less time, and to beam ideas from one side of the globe to the other in seconds, is destroying our cultural identities. and whats worse, only the people with the money can afford them, when they should be a public service, a tool to educate and expand ideas. and instead they're a tool for profit.
I agree that many of these things are used for a profit, but if you want everyone (irrespective of their financial standing) to be able to use things equally...maybe you should reconsider what you're arguing against, comrade.

and furthermore, I know we're not doing favors for the gene pool. we're allowing the lesser of the species to survive, thereby allowing their genes to be passed on, thus slowly devolving.
Well, not quite. If you feel that the weaker people are the ones thriving while the strong are put on the sidelines, why don't you reconsider your post above where only the people with money can afford things. Money is the new "brute strength." If you're quick witted and resourceful, you can amass a great deal of wealth and pass your tenacity onto the next generation. With your wealth, you might even be able to afford a Bowflex or a Total Gym. Your kids can be as tough as Chuck Norris. I hear he doesn't have a chin under that beard, only another fist.

even back in the stone age, there was regulation: the strongest was the leader, and everyone else followed. and then when we couldn't do it that way anymore, we used religion as a way to keep people in check. since then and throughout time, man has been lead by the leaders, then the emperors, then the kings, and now the presidents.... all for their purpose of control, power, money, fame, etc.
If you can accept that reality, what's eatin' your shorts now? Money talks and bullshit walks. CitiGroup needed money and the government allocated that money.

yeah, its called the texas boarder.
You mean the Texas BORDER? Alas, you might not be as tenacious as I hoped. If your apparent grasp of the English language is any indicator of Texan intelligence, there is a chance that all our technology is actually weakening the gene pool by allowing Lone Stars to reproduce.

who, obama? the guy hasn't even been in office for a month. give me a fawking break.
Last I checked, this country rallied around "Dubya" with no evidence pointing to his ability to be a great leader. Eight years and thousands of American lives later, you choose to scoff in the face of an intelligent, well educated, thoughtful individual who speaks of racial tolerance, personal responsibility and the importance of education. No no... Give ME a fawking break.

I agree, however I am still staunchly opposed to government dictating that business decision.

If a friend was in the middle of a rough patch and needed a $3,000 to pay his bills and feed his family in March; then before he paid you back in April, you caught him roll by in a Koenigsegg CCX, wouldn't you pissed?

Shiiiit... If said friend picked up new socks, I'd knock his **ckin' block off.
No, if I lent said friend the money with no strings attached. It's none of my business what he/she does with the money. As long as the money is returned to me in the agreed upon time it doesn't matter what the money is used for.

So CitiGroup is in a self-dug hole. They approach the government for TARP money and accept it. Then they use a portion of that money to fund the purchase of a private jet they ordered in 2005? Especially considering spending like this is partially what got them here in the first place. You think this is a wise course of action for a company who, a month ago, was on the verge of going belly up?

Spellcheck? Listen, I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that English is your primary language. Given that, don't you think you could use it properly on a public forum where you have to type out your thoughts?

But that's neither here nor there. Either continue on the topic at hand; or concede that your logic, in this instance, is off. Don't get snippy with me because you don't have a retort.

You lie! If it's true, did you report it? This is blatantly unlawful and immoral.
