I spent several years working as a consultant making great money. As I was coming near to the end of the last program I was involved in, one of the companies liked my work and wanted to hire me. The number 3 guy at a multi-million $ defense contractor personally wanted to hire me, but he couldn't when I told him I only had an associates (and part of my bachelor's). I had to take a lower paying job. I'm in school now finishing up.

So, basically, companies don't care what you can do. All that matters is that little piece of paper that says what you 'should' be able to do. Maybe I'm just a little sour...

Dude, if you need a job at college, bartend. You leave with cash every day, you usually have a staff of hot waitresses to slowly infiltrate, and you get to meet new people on a daily basis.

.....Adds to the college experience.

Good luck.

Goodluck Mang! I know I had a great tme in college. Make sure you live somewhere near campus so you can walk to classes / bars / party's.

I graduated in 1991 so times are a good bit different now. I worked a part time job as a cook in a bar. we had great times with the waitresses / bartenders, etc.... There was a lot (and I mean A LOT) of sexual harrassment, but back then it was all in good fun...... now it would get you fired...... but I am sure working some shitty job a bar as a waiter is still a hell of a lot of fun!!!!

Post back some pics of the parties and pussy...

Also...we lived in OC, MD for a couple of summers..... even more fun and $. back then we would steal all kinds of $ renting bikes (we just wouldn't write down the names and keep the $).... anyway.... lots of drinking and acting like idiots and able to save $ (stolen $ but whatever)...

It sounds like the original post was misleading.

I think the OP intended to ask if he should take the slow or fast route through school.

I would opt for the slow route. Depending, of course, on whether or not you want to continue on for graduate work.

Going slow should help to minimize your debt. It will give you more work experience, and it will allow you to build on your retirement.

I'll finish this December with 13.5 years of college under my belt. It's a long haul and all of my friends are long finished and living their boring routine lives. Enjoy school while you can, enjoy exercising your mind.

Most importantly make sure you are setting yourself up to do something you love. Don't waste your time setting up a life that you are going to hate living. You should be able to wake up every morning with a smile on your face and at the end of the day you should still be able to find that smile. I know I can.

i guess your right dude.

it was a decison between being an adult or letting loose and not taking things way to quick

the way i see it i jumped into the working life way to early and realized that after school all im going to be doing for the next 30-40 years was work. so i told my self that i will be going back to school full time and cherish those moments. im only 20 once in my life and i would like to be able to look back and smile at my experiences.
