Default College.... think I'll get in?

I am 21 years old and I am in the Army, I have two jobs in this... civil engineering and dental specialist. I enlisted in the Army and did not finish high school, they told me I had a year to come up with a GED or diploma and a GED is what I got. My high school transcript is worth burning... I went to a community college for a year, the first semester I withdrew from 2 classes because I changed my major... I got a B in financial accounting and a C+ in english, I also withdrew from my 4 spring semester classes because I got called up for Army training. I am no longer at that school and since then I have transferred to a 4 year school that is pretty lenient in there admission of people. I am cross enrolled as an ROTC cadet at another school in that system while I take classes at the current school I am at.

Last semester I got called up for training with the army, I neglected to withdraw from my classes and in turn got two AF's (administrative failures *** I never went) I was preparing for the training and just completely forgot about withdrawing properly. I am back in that school this semester taking two 4 credit classes (intro to psych and critical thinking) I plan on B's in both. Total after this semester I will have 18 or 20 credits and I have never taken an SAT:

6 (community college I went to first)
8 (granite state college but I have 2 AF's on my transcript I am trying to get turned into W's)
4 (army training, I recieved 4 credits for this)
1 (UNH Army ROTC, spring semester and hopefully another 2 from THIS semester)

My GPA besides the 2 AF's will be at hmm, I don't know 2.0-2.7 ish? I'm not sure. I just know that I want to transfer schools to...

Penn State (Berks) which is a 2 year school people go to, and if they do well they are guaranteed transfer to Penn St University Park by 3rd year which would be Junior year for me. This school accepts 79% of there applicants.

Umass Lowell
which is a 4 year school I'd go to for a semester or so until I could transfer into Umass Amherst. Lowell accepts 70% of there applicants

University of Maine (Orono) which accepts 79% as well.

I have a letter explaining why I got AF's for the spring semester, also I have a letter of recommendation from a Lieutenant Colonel in my Unit who is a Dentist... he is vouching for me as a Dental Specialist School student for the Army but I don't know how much weight that holds. I am trying to get a recommendation from a professor or two in my current classes. I am wondering if I am dreaming by thinking I can get into Penn State Berks or these other schools with those 2 AF's... it totally KILLS my current GPA, hell even if I got 4.0 in the two classes... I need some feedback on my situation and the likely hood of me getting where I want for spring semester.

I think your best bet is to talk to a college guidance counselor. Unless there is on on these forums, I don't think anybody is going to give you a better answer than them. Good luck.

Good luck. There are some feeder schools like you talked about that can get you into good 4 year schools. You did the research, so hopefully it comes through for you.

You should be able to get those AF's removed. You have a legitimate excuse. I know someone that was unable to return to school for several months due to a serious injury far away from home and school. His life was in such commotion that he didn't withdraw from classes, but he was able to get the Fs removed.
