... but the deodorant needs to be applied more than once a day!!
More than likely I'm thinking about doing the following setup :
Body Wash - Either Ax Touch or Unscented
Deodorant - Unscented
Shave Balm - Acqua Di Gio
Cologne Spray - Acqua Di Gio
I can see where you're coming from though... with it being rather common. I am an active poster on another local forum for auto enthusiasts. There was a thread made, similar to this in regards to colognes - several individuals mentioned the Acqua Di Gio.

I tried the deodorant and it did not work very well for me. I just use the cologne spray and the aftershave balm. I tried the shaving cream, shampoo, and deodorant and those were all ok but not great.
The Acqua Balm is basically just a light lotion that smells awesome. I have worn it without the cologne and still received compliments.

like gosixers said, try out Armani Black Code as well. It's a bit more of a "mature" scent. I change it up between Black Code and Gio [not like everyday, but y'know], and I always get compliments because it keeps the smell fresh, but still familiar because they're not vastly different.
Here's what I think
Gio = more of a casual cologne. Can wear it no matter what you're actually wearing
Black Code = fits better in a dressy setting. Suit and tie sorta thing, or semi-formal. I wear it for work all the time.

Tomorrow after I get off work I want to run by a local store, check out some of their colognes. I'll make sure to compare the Black to the Gio - see how each smell.
I do like that idea though - having two different scents. My job is at a dealership, in the internet department ... so I wear a suit & die on the daily. Perhaps Armani Black Code wouldn't be too bad to toss on before I leave the house. Then once I get in from work or on my days off I can use the Acqua Di Gio.
