Default Commercial pole saw

Anyone in the tree-trimming trade?

Data points: 1/2 acre lot, five mature oak trees. regularly need to trim lowarer dead branches, etc.

Have had two Home-Depot-grade extending pole saws (one Fiskars, the other I cannot remember the name), NOT satisfied with quality, particularly the 'whippy' poles and poor connection at the base of the blade.

I would gladly pay $$ for a better unit, if there's some site like treetrimmerstuff.com. Ideas?

I don't really have a suggestion, as the Fiskars from Home Depot is sufficient for my needs, but do have a question.

Have you considered a gas pole pruner? I helped a friend out and was using his Stihl pole pruner/saw - - - it was very efficient. I don't know what they cost but perhaps you should consider one if your doing a lot of regular tree work.

Yes, I have. So far, the cost, mainenence issues and so far they seem to be on the short side -- have kept me away.

In my fantasies, I have a gas pruner and access to a bucket truck, trimming left and right -- The Arboreal Ninja!
