Default Compact Flash Memory Cards

I bought a 32mb flash card for my digital camera today. I was being cheap, and decided against purchasing the "kodak" brand name. Instead I bought SanDisk. San Disk has a 5 year warranty, and the price with $15 cheaper than the brand name. Did I make a mistake, should I run back to the store and take it back??

Do the brand names actually make their own cards? I was pleased, on best, and high res, I get 51 images. On the 8 mb Kodak card I get 12..

Most of the "brand" names are assembled by contract manufacturers.

I actually just did the same thing, this weekend. Didn't think about it too much. This gives me peace of mind. BTW, I got the S110 and so far, it's been a blast!

In Flash Memory cards....SanDisk is a brand name...there's is probably the highest quality cards I've bought. I've gone through many: Kodak, Lexmar, Sony, Acon,.... Don't worry about it Shelly, you got a card that was thoroughly tested before it was packaged and shipped to distributors.

I guess I could have elaborated a bit more... Sandisk is actually one of the brands that you shouldn't have to worry about quality. They actually hold a lot of the patents relating to flash memory and flash memory applications. I think that was going to be my point in my first post and I got distracted and ended up not finishing what I was typing.

Does anyone have an opinion on those IBM MicroDrives and their suitability/durability for digital camera use??? It would rock to have 1 GB of storage in your camera and not need to worry about changing cards or having a computer near by... Thanks in advance.
