Default Computer guys, quick question...

My Norton Anti Virus has expired and the thing keeps giving me this annoying pop up window telling me it's time to renew, but I don't want to renew, how can I keep that damn window from coming up all the time?

Thanks for any help...

Not trying to be a smartass here, but have you tried uninstalling it so it just goes away all together?

I assume you want to keep the current version so a deinstall in not the question. Go to zdnet.com or hotfiles.com and get a shareware anti-pop up

I don't want it gone, I just don't want to renew. Virus protection is paramount in today's computer world. Incidentally, your comment was tantamount to saying "so your car makes a funny noise once in a while, why don't you just get rid of it". The answer is, "'cause you need it" .

right click on the little nortons av icon in teh task bar, configure, click on live update, uncheck automaticly update.

thats it

btw, idk if i should post it here, but you can get free live updates.

just change teh date back to less then 1 year after your original install of nortons, do your update, then set it to the correct day

That's exactly what I wanted to know, thanks dude, forgive me for being such a computer novice. Couldn't find the date to set it back, I'll just get a newer version from you-know-who...lol.
