Default Computer program help....

Does anyone know of a program that will count files that are in a given area (harddisk or folders)

I have 3 hard drives with mp3s, and they are organized into folders. Is there a program I can use to count how many mp3s I have? Thanks for the help!

Are you running Windows? The properties page (right-click, Properties) will tell you how many files and folders, and the total size.

Right click on the folder and then click properties.

Not on all Unix systems. -print is not always assumed.

OK. As long is you have find-utils or are on Sun/AIX/Linux/HP. That's all I'm logged into right now.

No no....

When you click on my hard drive in my computer (Drive H in this case) a window opens up with hundreds of folders (names after artists)...in those folders are either more folders, or tracks. In subfolders, (if an artist has more than one album) there are mp3s as well. Any way I can do this to the whole harddrive, and not do one by one?

as long as you are running XP, highlight every file and folder on the drive (ctrl-A), and right-click on one and select Properties. The properties window will display a count of both files and folders, as well as the total size.
