I lived in Tennessee for a year and a half (going to school at UTK) and had many great freinds whos rooms we all hung out in, well my roomate, my black roomate, and I used to basically live in this kid Randells room, Randell had a Confederate Flag, Actually it was a terrible copy that his grandma made, but I asked my roomate if it bothered him, and he said no, thats just history.

As I recall there are tons of people with a license plate holder with the Con. Flag on top and the words "Southern Pride, Not Prejudice" on the bottom.

Saying that a Flag is just nylon is oversimplifing in my opinion though, since if this Poll asked "Swastika Flag: Racist or not" the poll would lean in a totally different manner.

That said, I think the Confederate Flag is not racist.

the Swastika represents something that was never socially or morally acceptable.

A couple of centuries ago, slavery was accepted as a necessary part of the economy in this nation and many others.

Comparing the holocaust and salvery are two very different issues.
