My money's on The Latin Snake. The fastest hands of the remaining 4, and the most cerebral of the bunch. As with many other sports, boxing's 90% mental. And his heart's big...maybe even bigger than Fonso's.
On a side note, I tried to get tix for the Contender final on May 24th (a Tues nite
), and they were sold out. They had some 1st row press seats on eBay going for @ $3K.
BTW, don't forget Tito vs Winky Sat nite on PPV. Gonna be a helluva fight...

I have two tickets to the Bronze fight and the Finale fight in Vegas next Tuesday. I'm actually heading up to Vegas Sunday to do a couple days of gambling before the fight.
I was really hoping Gomez was going to make it to the final fight. However, Manfredo knocked him around pretty good on Sunday. Now I'm really hoping Jesse makes it to the final fight. I'd love to see another knockout from him.
FWIW, I actually started taking boxing lessons after watching this show. The lessons are pretty fun too!
I'm really hoping that they decide to do a second season of Contender. It's my favorite reality show along with Amazing Race.

Jay, sorry to have to tell you, but NBC has already canceled it for next year. They came out with their fall line up and Contender, Trial by Jury & Third Watch
have been canceled.

have been canceled.I think the Contender would've been more appealing if they redesigned the way that they present the show. There are a few elements of the show that I'd change if I were one of the producers. However, I still think its a great show.
I think it's going to be Jesse vs. Manfredo....that's going to be a damn good fight. As far as the show being cancelled, that's friggin idiotic. They constantly were moving the show from one time shot to another, how did they expect it build a following.
The contender has good fights at the end and good editing to make the fights seem even better.
The issue I have with it is that some of the stunts/challenges they do are plain stoopid IMO. Not very well thought out and poorly executed. Additionally having a retired boxer and a movie boxer facilitate the competitions make them look pretty foolish... the should have someone else facilitate the competitions and leave the comentary for Sugar and Stallone.
Very emmotional endings....my wife and I enjoy it....
