Talking cool DARPA stuff

Was fiddling around on the interwebz and came across some interesting projects going on at DARPA. Some of these things are unbelievable!

http://www.darpa.mil/dso/thrusts/bio/mainh.../dbac/index.htm

The goal of the Deep Bleeder Acoustic Coagulation (DBAC) Program is to develop a portable, lightweight, noninvasive, automated system for the detection, localization, and coagulation of deep bleeders that is operable by minimally trained personnel in the combat environment.
http://www.darpa.mil/dso/thrusts/materials...eered/index.htm

The Engineered Bio-Molecular Nano-Devices/Systems (MOLDICE) Program has developed and demonstrated novel hybrid (biotic-abiotic) nanoscale interface technologies that enable direct, real-time conversion of bio-molecular signals into electrical signals. ... Innovative ideas will be explored for the development of interfaces (to ion channels and receptors) that enable the real-time (temporal) transduction of molecular (stochastic) events into electrical signals. A critical focus of this program is the exploitation of temporal (kinetic) information for the real-time analysis and detection of molecular targets.
Few more interesting ones:

My last job was on a DARPA contract--trying to build a demonstrator "heliplane." The goal was to set a new world record for rotary wing aircraft. It was pretty neat!

"Take off your cloths...lie down...relax...this will only take a minute or two. See? It wasn't too bad, was it?" uts the fresh pair of balls she harvested into ziploc:
