Default CPU ~ water cooled or heatsink-and-fan

Hey All,

I'm in the process of putting together a computer together and decided on an AMD XP1900 or XP1800. The processor runs fairly hot and will require a strong fan. However, along with a stronger fan comes really irritating NOISE. Need some answers to the following questions:

Water cooling:
>How often do you have to refill to water? Or rather, how much maintenance is involved?

Heatsink and fan:
>What's the quiestest fan than you know for this processor?

Any other comments about cpu cooling would be appreciated.

If you go watercooling, get the DangerMaze II waterblock, it's the best rated out there. Although with watercooling, if you have a closed system, you should put new water and coolant mixture into the system every year.

As for H/S fan, look on: www.3dgameman.com as this guys does a LOT of reviews on heatsink/fan combos

I've got a retail 1800+ (with OEM HSF), a new GeForce4 4600 and 3 hard drives and havent had any problems with heat, even with 80+ degreee ambient temps. The oem HSF should be fine provided you run it at the stock speeds.
