Honestly I wouldnt worry about it. Its one bad mark over a long history of clean payments. If youre planning on buying something big in the next few months then maybe, but overall its not THAT big of a deal. Just dont make a habit of it

I've had good luck (with experian at least) getting issues removed from my credit report, including a late payment on a credit card, but never a mortgage payment. I told them I had moved and the bill wasn't forwarded. And just like that, it was stricken

It was also rereported when the creditor next reported to the bureau.

You cannot work at the credit bureau level when something is currently being reported. That only works on old stuff.

The credit bureau only reports what is given to them so you have to go to the horses mouth on current stuff. You have to change the date being reported which can only be done at the creditor level.

UPDATE

I checked my Fico score today...

...100 POINT DROP!!!

Five years building my credit, finally get over 700 points, and with just one stupid late payment BAM! all gone, down to 609, below subprime. I can't even finance a damn pair of jeans now with that garbage score. I swear I'm goin to break something today.

Make your payments on time and it will continue to go up.
600 isn't terrible and is considered above average which means you should have little or no problems acquiring future debt.
Don't use a credit repair agency because this just adds to point out a credit problem that doesn't look good and doesn't really exist.
You don't have the money problems that these agencies are much better suited for.
If you only have one credit card, apply for at least one more.
You can charge minimally to this card and make your payments on time and your score will rise even faster.

Personal Expreience- I applied for another CC because of a phone conversation from AAA in which I was led to believe that I was elgible for a 9.9% interest rate. When I got the card it was 16.9% which I was unable to convince anyone at AAA that this was not what was promised on the phone so I cancelled the card. My FICO score went down about 30 points because of this. A week or so later, I applied and recieved a CC with a 7.9% rate ,made a small charge on it paid it down to about a $5 balance on the very first payment and my FICO score returned to (about) normal. I'm thinking now that it might even go higher just because of this second card.

All they have to do is respond to the dispute and say that it's accurate and now you are red flagged at the credit bureau as one of those people who disputes as a method of credit clean up and it will make it doubly hard in the future for any legitimate disputes you may have.
i just resently disputed BOFA for to delinquencies on my report (two late payments, eventhou on the application for the cards i check the box that said autopay and i even wrote i wanted the bill to be paid monthly from my checking account and had that notarized because of past experience before).

because i disputed this for so long and they constanly continued to deny it, does that mean that im ''red flaged''?
