Default Criminal Law Attorneys: is this true?

"United States is one of the few countries in the world that puts to death both the mentally retarded and juvenile offenders. The United States is among only six countries that impose the death penalty on juveniles. The others are Iran, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen."

I'm not opposed to capital punishment, but is the above statement true? I didn't know we're allowed to put juveniles and mentally retarded to death (I thought they get juvenile hall and mental institutions).

granted you'd have to committ a crime worthy of the death penalty...it's not something that gets thrown around lightly
