Dallas area members, attention please. . .and help needed.
Dallas area members,
I will most likely be in Dallas in a couple of weeks on business. If possible I wouldn't mind trying to stay the weekend to try to catch up with other members.
If no one can meet up, or wants to meet up with that's fine, but I still need some help. I was in Dallas a couple of years ago and went to this one steak house. I've always told myself that I'd come back if not just for that steak house. . .believe me people, it was THAT GOOD.
I didn't take any matchbook, business card, or anything to let me remember the name of the place. I am trying to find the name and number of the place so that I can make reservations. This place doesn't look like a 5 star restaurant on the outside, in fact they decorate the exterior with pink neon tubing. Once inside though, it's a different story. . .5 star all the way. They only get the freshest cut meats, one steak dinner averages $60 a plate, and the meat is seasoned exceptionally well. . .the steak literally melts in your mouth before you take the first bite.
Can anyone help id this place?
Thanks

I'm in Dallas during the week. Let me know when you are in town, or else during the weekends, I'm usually back in Austin. Unfortunately, I've only got the Miata up here - and I go home to visit the woman in my life (Moca my cat) and my other two door two seater convertible.
For food though, I say if you want the best, then we'll go to Fogo de Chao. Its $38.50 for whatever you eat, plus drinks and dessert. But you MUST be prepared to eat this stuff. Its better than any steak house you will ever visit - I promise you that! Brasilian churrasscaria style. Excellent! Okay, my mouth is watering now.
I'm definatley up for it if you are - anytime!

Bob's is the best steakhouse in Texas (rated #5 nationally) and it's located just north of downtown Dallas.

I also heard Fogo de Chau was awesome. I heard Texas of Brazil right across the street is almost the same.
off subject:
I thought white was pretty rare, but there are 3 (including mine) white/red S2000s in the Plano/Frisco area.
anyone on this board?

Hmm, I hardly ever see white/reds in my part of town.
As for steaks - Fogo de Chao is a great place. Definitely be prepared to eat a lot. I went to Bob's a few weeks ago and was a bit disapointed - the steak was great but not the best I've ever had, and the atmosphere was, well, family dining style-ish. Loud, with TVs in the corners showing sports events. Morton's, another chain like FdC, has awesome steaks and the Godiva Chocolate Cake is the best I've ever had in my life. It's dark and quiet and comfortable inside. I haven't gotten away from there for under $150. There's a few places I haven't been to, of course - a friend who's been around calls Del Frisco's the best ever. There's relatively new-comers III Forks and Sulivan's. Some older ones include Chamberlains and Lowry's.
