.dat files in Kazaa
Can't wait to watch your porn?
But yeah, the last 101k or so of the file appears to be the Kazaa-related data. For video files, you should just be able to rename them with the appropriate extension and play them. MP3 files might be able to play depending on how your player handles the corrupted id3 tags. There's probably some utility out there that will trim off the kazaa stuff for you.
If you want to try and preview something while it's downloading, look for a file that's about the size that kazaa indictes in the progress column, copy it to a new file and rename.

depends on the type of file you were downloading...some files cannot be played until the file is complete...aka...some movie types. MPEG files are generally not like this and should be able to be heard as a partial file...just change the extension and you will be ok. But whats the point of doing that...when you rename the file, you will not be able to finish downloading the file in the first place.
Also, why not just use the preview function from within Kazaa?
