Data Recovery Help
Nope, DaveZ and DaWorm were right.
The data was under a new 'owner' account instead of her login account. The unknown account was deleted in safe mode under the folder security settings. The account name was something like S-2-3-25-123456-6578-434-54542....just in case you wanted to know.
Instead of copying the newly found data into her account I'd like to redirect WinXp into the 'owner' (data filled) account instead of her login (new and empty) account. Any of you guys know how to do this? I tried renaming the 'owner' folder but my sister's account doesn't have access to the folder. The only account that has access to the 'owner' folder is the admin and I'm having trouble adding a new account. I can't find my sister's account in the selection of accounts.
DaveZ was also right about the 2 program I downloaded. I could see, but not touch. Luckily, I was able to find a totally free program called PC Inspector File Recovery. It has gotten great reviews, but it didn't work as well I had hoped. It was only able to recover data from the primary partition on my master hard drive and nothing else.
Thank you for the offer Yogi, but I think I have things under control now.
Thanks again you guys.
