Dealer steals back car!
Hope this isn't a repost. Evidently a dealership in Nashville stole back a truck that they sold for the wrong price. The guys over at www.bimmerforums.com are having a great time messing with the dealership. I think we should too.

Thats bullshit...the dealer had no right to take the car back after they signed the contract...
And i think it is a criminal case they stole his damn truck!!...
I wouldn't only file charges I'd sue them for everything they got..
Peace

that's rediculous....i work in the biz and that is straight up rediculous....if the truck wasn't properly stocked in then the salesman should have consulted a manger to find out the price.
he probably wouldn't have the title to it since the dealership has to do all the tag and title work for him. usually we notarize the title and send it to the state DOT and then they send you the title.
so i don't know if that could be a loophole where since they still have the title they can get away with it, but either way it's still dumb

Well either way, I'd take the car back and lock it in my garage and set up survailance. If they came back for it, I'd press charges for burglary and grand theft auto, and if they sued I'd show the judge my contract.
He has the keys and a used truck is probably just sitting on the lot. Possesion is 9/10ths of the law kind of thing. I know a guy that owns a custom truck shop that put a custom painted cap on a guys truck a few years ago. The guy drove off without ever paying. The sherriff told him the same thing that they can't file criminal charges and it has to be a civil case. He also told him that if he happened to get it back that he wouldn't be charged either. So he went with a few of his employees to the guys house, unbolted the cap, and took it. Only thing he lost out on was the paint job.
