Default Debate with friend answer please!

Ok so I have always thought (not that I have acted on) there was a 3-year window with the law of statchatory (sp) rape. So if you were 16 dating a 14 year old when you turn 18 it is not illegal because of the 3 year window. Maybe it is just in Texas? Is it true or not????

Thanks!

This is very state dependent.

There are some states where you can be 10 days apart and it's statutory rape.

I find it funny how most high schools pass out condoms, thereby encouraging some poor horny bastard into breaking the law with his teenage ho.

WTF?

If you are 16 bopping a 14 year old then it's not statutory rape.

If you are an 18 year old nailing someone under the legal age of consent it is plain and simple.

In CA, within three years is a misdemeanor. Anything beyond three years is a felony.

In ohio age of consent is 16 with a 3 year difference in age allowed if one person is over 18 or over.

I'm 21 and dating a 17 yr. old...her parents are cool with it as long as sex isn't involved and I don't take her to drinking parties and such.

If you're worried about statutory rape, you have two options:
1) Don't have sex. That's the best option, because you probably aren't old enough, mature enough, or financially secure enough to deal with an accidental pregnancy.
2) Read the law. Don't follow heresy from this board.

Chapter 21 for you, my friend.

Passing out condoms is a FAR more effective way of reducing teenage pregnancies than simply telling a walking vat of hormones (teenagers) not to have sex because it's bad. Get with the program.

completely.

Never mind that it's apparently a "poor horny bastard" but the girl is a "ho."

MN for example:

Nobody under the age of 16 can consent so its automatically rape.
After that there is a 2 year window meaning an 18 year old can have sex with a 16 year old, but a 19 year old could not. Once both persons are 18+ it does not matter.
