Dell Laptop & a Floppy Screen... Help!
I have a Dell Inspiron 8000 laptop and the screen, (actually the entire top half of the box) flops around on the hinges. When I use the thing on my lap, the screen has about 3/4 inch play which allows it to flop back and forth...... Annoying!
Does anyone know an easy fix or know how to tighten this thing up? It's still under warranty, but Dell's tech support isn't what it used to be (or SHOULD be).
Thanks!

i am familiar with that model DELL. I am fairly certain that in order to repair that properly, you will have to replace any or all of the following: the laptop plastic shell, the hinge shafts, and the small washers that are inside the hinges...It is definately a job for dell support.
BTW...i have always had tremendous luck with dell support. I hope you have onsite support.
