Desi's of the World Untie!
If this is going to be the spot where desi's meet up, this may be the place to post this:
Our friend Vinay found out this week
that his chemotherapy isnt working and
needs a bone marrow transplant in the
next 5-6 weeks. Its really important
that if you have not registered to go
make the effort and take 15 min out of
your day and sign up!! If you are a
registered spread the word and get
your friends to register. The more
people we have in the registry,
someone out there can help save a
life.
There are a number of drives being
held in the next few weeks listed on
the website below. If you dont have
time to make it at these locations
there is a list of places you can go
thru out California.

HOW YOU CAN HELP
We beseech you, on behalf of all of
his family and friends, to take a few
minutes and register with the National
Bone Marrow Registry. From this point
on, each person who registers is going
to make a crucial difference in our
search for a match. Since November,
Vinay has undergone intensive
chemotherapy. This week, we received
the difficult news that the
chemotherapy was not effective, and
that Vinay requires a bone marrow
transplant. This is a deeply difficult
time and we need your support. There
are not enough South Asians in the
bone marrow registry. Since Vinay is
Indian, there is a greater likelihood
of finding a match among the same
population as we share similar genes
(genetic markers). It is important
that as many Indians join the Bone
Marrow Registry in the upcoming weeks
to maximize Vinay's chances of finding
a suitable donor
PLEASE FORWARD TO AS MANY PEOPLE YOU CAN THINK OF!

This guy has been my friend since I was a kid, he is one of the most extraordinary people I know of. He is so good natured, friendly, honest, and all around great human being. He is in need of a bone marrow donor URGENTLy, so I hope this post will get some of you guys to go out there and register yourselves with the Bone Marrow donor registry. We need to get the word out to as many Indians as we can (There is only a 1 in 20,000 chance of a bone marrow donor match for Indians!) to register. Thanks guys.
