Apollo 11 didnt really land on the moon anyway
that was all filmed in Iceland.
I would like to see the nasa program ended, the money we spend on that garbage could really do some good in the world if used elsewhere!

I dont care one way or the other if we landed on the moon, nor will I debate one way or the other... but I agree that we should end the space program completely.. or scale it back quite a bit.. too much government money that could be better spent somewhere else
Nasa uses less than 1% of the budget. America spends more on pizza a year than NASA spends on space. Nasa also provides many things that you use every single day. To shut it down would be a disservice to the american people.

it baffles me how anyone can suggest to shut down the space program. if anything, we should be investing a *lot* more money in that area. i think our defense budget could use a little trimming...
OK people lets clear something up
Money in NASA is an *investment.* Every mission new scientific discoveries are made, every mission involves a purpose, and the technology that is created for NASA ends up trickling down to us (consumers) or to U.S. businesses. If you're really interested in a handful of real-world examples, they have some on their site. http://techtran.msfc.nasa.gov/at_home.html Google is your friend, you can probably find many more.
I'll put it simply. Money on NASA doesn't just go up in space and get dumped there. They aren't taking millions in cash in the shuttle payload and tossing it roughly towards the moon.
Those of you suggesting that money could be better spent elsewhere make me really sad for the future of this country. Our space program is one of our greatest achievements as a nation, one which we should all be proud of.
