Digital Camera Advice Needed
Hello all....Can anyone guide me in the right direction as to a good digital camera around $300?
The main purpose of the camera will be for taking pictures of stuff to put on a website which my company is putting up. We're planning on selling men's suits, sneakers, jewelery, etc.?
Any advice would be appreciated.

you don't need a whole lot of MP's for web images, and you are better off taking the images at the size they will be posted. That said, you want a decent lens, but you don't need a new camera for what you're doing. $300 is pretty high for your needs, unless you are thinking of an SLR set-up, in which case it isn't nearly enough.
Pretty much any P&S will work for you, but you might want to look for the largest lens (not longest zoom, but largest diameter lens). A larger lens will typically give a better image than a tiny peephole. You might also want to try to find one that has some sort of white balance adjustment, and the ability to use an off-camera flash. A used Canon G2 with a hotshoe would be great for your use:

I got my girlfriend a Canon SD400 (5MP) and a Corsair 512MB SD card for right around $300 for Christmas (actually think it was a bit under $300).
This thing is SMALL, I haven't tried but I am pretty sure it can fit into a deck of cards. It has a viewfinder but it is very small and almost useless.
Has a shitload of features but as a simple point and click it is awesome. It loads (from power on to when you can take a photo) in under a second. Can take 2.1 pictures a second and focuses pretty well.
One odd feature is the ability to color swap. I took a picture of my friends fridge and color swapped a red from a photo and the green from the Milk carton (also seen on the Parmasean cheese bottle).

It's a pretty neat trick that is also pretty useless, but gives you something to play around with. Great if you don't have Photoshop but also not as good as Photoshop.
Here is another general shot of my dog. This was taken about 10 mins after I gave her the camera.

I resized both of those pictures using MS Paint so there is loss from compression. If you want I can get you the uncompressed photos. Looking at the photos compressed, there is alot of loss. I think in the photo of my dog the focus was on the tire, it is very detailed but not so much now.
I really recommend this camera if you want a small camera you can fit anywhere.
EDIT: I don't know if this is the camera that will best fit your needs. But anyone else reading it is definetly a nice camera.
